March Field Wing Ding

Wing Ding: a wild, lively, or lavish party.

Born at March Field in the months before the Second World War, the “Wing Ding” was the brainchild of legendary aviator General Henry “ Hap” Arnold.

Hap, short for Happy, knew how to have a good time, he created the fun event to raise morale and bring the base and community together.

This Spring, March Field Air Museum is bringing back Hap Arnold’s informal squadron parties. Step back with us into the swinging 1940’s with music, costumes, and, samplings from local restaurants and wineries and Hangar 24 beer.

Our Second Annual Wing Ding fundraiser will be held on Saturday May 13^th 2023.
